An international airport and a bullet-train line that puts Tokyo at 1 hour 40 make it very convenient to travel. The food is fantastic and Niigata is renowned across Japan for its rice and its sake. Fabulous hot-springs offer a nice way to unwind. Niigata is also famous for its manga and anime industries and one of the best music festivals in the world.
