Noisevember 2022

Last month, we had a lot of fun in participating to Noisevember. Like Nodevember for patcher extraordinaires or Genuary for generative artists, the challenge was to design a new sound effect per day for a month. These events usually come with a daily prompt, and this year we followed the list provided by the Air Wiggles community.

You can see all the results in the video below.

If you are interested, you can also check @nicolasfournel tweets for longer sounds and the full context behind each of them. Sounds were a collaboration between Nicolas Fournel and sound designer Axel Speller.

All the corresponding patches can be downloaded from the package below (some have already been uploaded to the GameSynth repository). Note that the patch for “Everything” does not include the samples as some of them could not be freely distributed.

We mostly used GameSynth, with the exception of a patch made in DSP Motion and one in DSP Action. In GameSynth, we primarily used the Modular and Particles models, for fully procedural patches and sample-based granular sounds respectively.

Looking forward to Noisevember 2023 already!
